When children turn thirteen, they begin their exciting and often rebellious teenage years. But no matter what age they may be, they’re always up for a good laugh. That’s why I try to improvise and create my own funny birthday cards.
I don’t exactly create these cards from scratch. Instead, I buy greeting cards that are completely unrelated to the occasion. So for a 13 year old boy’s birthday, I may pick out a random 60th birthday card for a grandfather. Then I just cross out certain words and add my own to make it seem like it’s for a 13 year old boy.
As a result, I turn a normal greeting card into a funny one within seconds, by confusing the recipient and adding very obvious modifications. To make it even funnier, I look for cards that have photos on them. So for the thirteen year old boy, I would try to find a greeting card with a photo of an old grandpa, and maybe write something like, “your future husband”.
I hope you get a chance try my greeting card tactic I mentioned above. In the meantime, good luck sharing today’s 13th birthday poem with that brand new teenager on his birthday."^ ^;...

"The Meralco or Manila Electric Company and former Manila Electric Railroad And Light Company is a private company in the Philippines to manage the distribution of electricity in Metro Manila and nearby provinces like Rizal and Cavite [1] . Meralco runs the first 1903 to the present. 105 years service they provide to the Filipinos .
While watching the news, one of the banner stories I saw was that Meralco is set to launch its prepaid services soon. I did some Googling and found that the Meralco prepaid-electricity scheme works like the mobile-phone loading system. A consumer provides a sari-sari store or any prepaid outlet his subscriber information number and the amount is loaded to that number via text message.
Meralco conducted a study and found that most of customers showed their preference for prepaid electricity, saying the managed appliance use matched their household expense with their income. The said research also showed that the prepaid system, which is like buying tingi, is ingrained in the Filipino lifestyle. The study noted that, since many wage earners receive daily or weekly pay, they prefer their expenses—from mobile phones to Internet and electricity —to be also on a tingi basis. It was also revealed that consumers were interested in the prepaid system because it serves as a budget tool that teaches household members to save and share expenses.
I personally think it’s a great mechanism in order to make electricity more widely available (since Meralco will be rolling out around 4,000 new meters for this project); affordable for most people, since a prepaid system can really help in budgeting the household income; and, easily accessible because anytime one needs electricity, all she/he needs to do is go to the suking tindahan and say “Pa-load nga po ng kuryente!..."^ ^;... "ESA's Mars Express supports dramatic landing on Mars

This artist's concept depicts the moment that NASA's Curiosity rover touches down onto the Martian surface. The entry, descent, and landing (EDL) phase of the Mars Science Laboratory mission begins when the spacecraft reaches the Martian atmosphere, about 81 miles (131 kilometers) above the surface of the Gale crater landing area, and ends with the rover safe and sound on the surface of Mars. Entry, descent, and landing for the Mars Science Laboratory mission will include a combination of technologies inherited from past NASA Mars missions, as well as exciting new technologies. Instead of the familiar airbag landing systems of the past Mars missions, Mars Science Laboratory will use a guided entry and a sky crane touchdown system to land the hyper-capable, massive rover. The sheer size of the Mars Science Laboratory rover (over one ton, or 900 kilograms) would preclude it from taking advantage of an airbag-assisted landing. Instead, the Mars Science Laboratory will use the sky crane touchdown system, which will be capable of delivering a much larger rover onto the surface. It will place the rover on its wheels, ready to begin its mission after thorough post-landing checkouts. The new entry, descent and landing architecture, with its use of guided entry, will allow for more precision. Where the Mars Exploration Rovers could have landed anywhere within their respective 93-mile by 12-mile (150 by 20 kilometer) landing ellipses, Mars Science Laboratory will land within a 12-mile (20-kilometer) ellipse! This high-precision delivery will open up more areas of Mars for exploration and potentially allow scientists to roam "virtually" where they have not been able to before. In the depicted scene, Curiosity is touching down onto the surface, suspended on a bridle beneath the spacecraft's descent stage as that stage controls the rate of descent with four of its eight throttle-controllable rocket engines. The rover is connected to the descent stage by three nylon tethers and by an umbilical providing a power and communication connection. When touchdown is detected, the bridle will be cut at the rover end, and the descent stage flies off to stay clear of the landing site.
