Idineklara ngayon ng Malacañang ang July 13, Biyernes, bilang National Day of Remembrance para sa comedy king na si Dolphy, 83.
Ito'y kasunod ng pagpanaw ng showbiz icon.
Batay sa Presidential Proclamation 433, ang National Day of Remembrance ay pagbibigay pugay sa mga alaala ni Dolphy o Rodolfo Vera-Quizon Sr. sa tunay na buhay.
Una nang sinabi ng Malacañang na mismong si Pangulong Benigno Aquino III ay saludo sa mga naging kontribusyon ni Dolphy sa showbiz at sa lipunan.
Kaninang hapon ay personal mismong dumalaw ang Pangulo sa burol ng hari ng komedya sa The Heritage Park sa Taguig City.
Kasama ng Pangulo sina Transportation Sec. Mar Roxas at Interior Sec. Jesse Robredo.
"Tonight President Benigno S. Aquino III issued Proclamation No. 433, declaring tomorrow, July 13, 2012 a National Day of Remembrance to honor the memory of the late Rodolfo “Dolphy” Quizon, Sr.," ani Valte.
"The President issued the proclamation in recognition of how the nation deeply feels the passing of Dolphy. In the proclamation, the President cited Dolphy as a man who will live on in Philippine cultural history - and in the hearts of many of his countrymen.
"On the Day of National Remembrance, to honor the memory of the late Rodolfo “Dolphy” Quizon Sr. the President asks all our countrymen to reflect on the art and artistry, the personal kindness and generosity, and deep patriotism, of Dolphy, and the manner in which he exemplified in his works and life, the positive values of the Filipino people. The President asks all our countrymen to make this Day of Remembrance a celebration of the full life that Dolphy, with utmost generosity, shared with the country."
Una rito, pinag-aaralan pa ng Pangulong Benigno Aquino III kung national day of mourning o day of remembrance ang idedeklara sa pagpanaw ng comedy king na si Dolphy Quizon.
Sinabi ng Pangulo na kanyang tinitingnan sa batas kung ano ang angkop na idedeklara bilang pagbibigay pugay kay Dolphy at pakikiisa sa pagdadalamhati ng sambayanan.
Samantala, binanggit naman ng Pangulo na kanyang iginagalang ang proseso sa pagpili ng national artist at ministerial lamang ang kanyang gagawin sakaling may mapili na ang NCCA at CCP.
Inulit din ng Pangulo ang kanyang pagkilala sa mga nagawa ni Dolphy sa larangan ng sining at ambag nito sa industriya ng pelikula.
Kaninang hapon ay damalaw ang Pangulo sa burol ni Dolphy sa Heritage Park sa Taguig City.
Sa ngayon, kasama si Dolphy sa mga nominadong national artist para sa taong 2012.
Una itong nai-nominate noong 2009 pero hindi pinalad na maisama sa itinanghal na national artist noong panahon ng dating Pangulong Gloria Arroyo.
